OH Thanksgiving

In 1863 it was President Abe Lincoln who made Thanksgiving a National Holiday, but before him it was William Bradford in 1621 that made it a tradition. Legend says the first feast was venison, goose, duck, turkey, fish, and of course, cornbread. I am sure something in this feast was smoked, at least I hope so.

At RQ, Thanksgiving is all about the meat and the family. Of course we include a little hard work in there to get the meat to our favorite customers, but then it's all about family time and eating some of the best smoked meats. We also have a tradition of serving beef during our Thanksgiving meal. It's not that we do not do a smoked turkey or enjoy a little smoke ham, but beef brisket is our choice for the main course. Sliced pencil thin with all the fix-ins, it doesn't get any better than that. As you plan Thanksgiving with your family, we wanted to share our top four side items that pair well with beef.

Top 4 Side Items for Thanksgiving

1. RQ Mac and Cheese

2. Stuffing: made with beef broth instead of chicken broth. If you cook your Brisket in a pan be sure to save the drippings.

3. Broccoli Casserole, the cheesy one with ritz crackers on top.

4. Bonus Desserts - Devin's Apple Pie or Pecan Pie or Smoked Sweet Potato Pie... or maybe all 3?

Have a Righteous Thanksgiving! If you need a little help give us a call.
